
DR KYRA PIPERIDES
Kyra is interested in the intersections between language,
region, politics, and identity in modern and contemporary poetry.
With expertise in 19th- 20th- and 21st-century poetry, Kyra has written on poets
including Philip Larkin, Ted Hughes, Tony Harrison, Simon Armitage, Helen Mort and Matt Abbott.
She is particularly interested in Yorkshire poetry and literature from the north of England,
and their representations of race, class, gender, and sexuality.
Kyra is a trustee of the Philip Larkin Society, editor of the Philip Larkin Society newsletter,
and editor of About Larkin: The Journal of the Philip Larkin Society.
Kyra is currently teaching in the Department of English, Linguistics and History
at the University of Huddersfield.
